The Beginning

Tyler is a self-proclaimed storytelling geek. At a young age, he didn’t understand why he was so enamored with the pages of Batman or the oddly enthralling heroes of Roald Dahl, but as his career progressed through television news, public relations, corporate communications and content marketing, he realized why. Tyler loves to tell stories. It’s what he has always done and why he was drawn to study history and practice journalism.

The Journey

After a decade of Red Bull-enhanced perkiness and 16-hour days as a TV news anchor and reporter, Tyler joined the more comfortable confines of corporate communication and marketing, finding that the journalistic and writing skills transferred well. Following multiple stops in ever-increasing roles in corporate America, he started his own company focused on content marketing and storytelling. Now, his career bridges leadership, storytelling, and strategy, helping leaders uncover the narratives that drive influence and impact.

The Philosophy

There is a simple truth in our careers: people do not follow data, they follow stories. They follow the leader who can place them inside a larger arc of meaning. Tyler developed the 5 Archetypes of Storytelling not as an abstract theory, but rather a framework rooted in history and sharpened by modern relevance. By understanding the archetypes of storytelling, you will come to see your career as a narrative arc, one that you have the power to shape. And if you commit to the journey, you will be prepared to step into the role of a Story Hero: a leader whose story does not just end with achievement, but with a lasting legacy.
